Marching Fund: Supporting Pride Marches Across Poland for the Third Year Running!
Now in its third year, the Marching Fund, established by the Marching Cities Coalition, continues to provide crucial financial support for the organization of Equality Marches—particularly those taking place in smaller and mid-sized towns or organized by new grassroots groups.
What makes the Marching Fund truly unique is its participatory and negotiation-based model: representatives of the applicant groups themselves decide how the funds are distributed. This democratic, transparent process ensures that support is allocated based on real needs and collective priorities—not competition.
The goal of the Marching Fund is to empower local activists in creating impactful, inclusive events in their communities. Equality Marches are made possible thanks to courageous individuals who are willing to advocate for LGBT+ rights—often in places where such events have never happened before. Their passion, resilience, and determination are deeply inspiring.
We believe that the time and energy these activists invest in organizing social change are a vital contribution to the movement—and we want to minimize the need for personal financial sacrifice. That’s why the Marching Fund covers essential costs like stage rentals, sound systems, copyright fees (ZAiKS), promotion, and volunteer coordination.
📍 In 2025, the Marching Fund is supporting 10 groups organizing marches in cities including Białystok, Sztum, Słupsk, Milicz, Gorzów, Jelenia Góra, Kalisz, and Śrem, with a total of 15,000 PLN allocated for their activities.
Through the Fund’s participatory model, groups present their financial plans, share their needs and capacities, and then jointly set funding priorities and decide on allocations in an open discussion. This builds a culture of collaboration, fosters experience-sharing, and strengthens the organizing skills of everyone involved.
💪 The third edition of the Marching Fund is a collaboration between the Marching Cities Coalition and the Republic of Diversity Foundation, which manages fundraising, fund distribution, and ongoing support to recipient groups. Importantly, the Fund operates with no administrative overhead, meaning 100% of the donations go directly to local events.
