Kilka słów o nas
The Equality March in Katowice has been held since 2008, when it made its debut on the marching map of Poland as part of the ongoing Silesian Days of Equal Opportunities for All. After a successful, albeit difficult, debut, the march disappeared for 10 years, only to make a triumphant return on September 8, 2018. Since that beautiful day, the march has already been held every September, and not even COVID-19 has stopped it.
The main organizer of the Equality March in Katowice is the Rainbow Association, however, the wide support of sister and partner organizations makes it possible to organize this wonderful event of equality and acceptance.
The Rainbow Association works for LGBTQIAP+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, transgender, intersex, pansexual and all non-cisheteronormative people). We are the main center of the qeer community in Silesia. We also provide psychological and legal support.
As an Association, we are engaged in social education and against discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation and romantic orientation. We run meeting groups and integration events for the LGBTQIAP+ community. We periodically organize the Katowice Equality March. Through partyworking we promote health, popularizing HIV/AIDS prevention.
