About us
Tolerado – owned by the Association for LGBT People „Tolerado”, has been operating since September 2012 in the Tri-City and Pomerania, some of the activities carried out are also nationwide. Since 2015 we have been organizing the Tri-City Equality Marches and the Tri-City Equality Days. Every year since the 3rd March we have had the patronage of the Mayor of Gdansk, and since the 5th March – also of the Mayor of Sopot. In 2022, the 7th March also passed under the patronage of the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
In 2021, the VI Tri-City Equality March was opened by a so-called flag post consisting of flags of various communities that fall into the LGBTQIAP+ spectrum. The march leader and postmistress was a person from the asexuality spectrum, carrying an asexual and aromantic flag. In 2021, for the first time, the city of Gdansk flew rainbow flags along the march route, continuing and deepening this trend in 2022.
The organization of the Equality Marches is one of a number of activities of the Association, among which are support activities (support groups, individual consultations), regional networking activities (e.g. Gdańsk Center for Equal Treatment), local government (participation in the work on the Gdańsk Model of Equal Treatment, representation in the Gdańsk Equal Treatment Council and the Interdisciplinary Team for Violence in the Family at the Gdańsk MOPR), legal activity – court (civil and criminal prosecution from private prosecution) lawsuits against the foundation responsible for the pogrom-bus campaign.
The Equality Marches are the finale of our year-long activities and are the largest rainbow equality event in Pomerania, gathering up to 12,000 people.
