About Us
The Equality Parade has been marching through the streets of Warsaw since 2001. Initially a small demonstration, over time it has become the most important celebration of all those for whom freedom, equality and acceptance are paramount values.
The Warsaw Equality Parade is an annual celebration of the LGBT community; however, organizers also always insist on the rights of religious minorities, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities and all discriminated groups. Among the Parade’s demands are protection from discrimination and exclusion, strengthening legal protection against hate speech and hate crimes, marriage and civil unions for all citizens, barrier-free, open friendly cities for the local community, openness towards refugees and foreigners, anti-discrimination education, sound sex education and ethics in schools, stricter penalties for animal abuse.
