Kilka słów o nas
Spring 2018. Konin Secondary School II posted a video on its social media promoting the „Our Daily Bread” campaign. Shortly thereafter, the Konin III High School announced an art contest „What is tolerance to you?”. After pressure from nationalist circles, both schools backed down from their actions: the post was removed and the contest canceled.
In response to these events, a group of people studying in Konin schools, along with other activists, decided to express their opposition by organizing a march through the city. On May 18, several hundred people marched through the city under the slogans of tolerance and respect for diversity, carrying rainbow flags and loudly opposing attempts to intimidate residents by the actions of the far right.
The 2nd March for Tolerance in Konin was held on September 2, 2019. – It was attended by several hundred people and passed in a joyful and peaceful atmosphere. The march was opened by the Mayor of Konin Piotr Korytkowski, but he did not give it honorary patronage. We did not ask for such patronage because we wanted to avoid accusations of election agitation (the date of the march happened to fall during the local government election campaign).
